Jambo from Africa dear readers. I think that means hello. I don't know, people just keep saying it to me. It could mean, "Hey, here comes a white nerd…laugh at his jokes to boost his self-esteem," for all I know.
Four days into life in Nairobi, Kenya, and it is great. We're working with Deliverance Church, and the people are not only fantastic and full of life, but remind me of my church, River City Church, back home. I'm optimistic, hopeful and incredibly excited for this month. We've already spent some time at a local children's home in the largest slum in Kenya, and possibly Africa. Looking forward to going back. I think we're gearing up for some more direct evangelism this month, as well as maybe some service projects. Not really sure…but the Holy Spirit is here and moving, and I am thrilled to be caught up in His movement! Woo woo!! God is so good you guys. I love it.
With that said…internet here is limited. We won't be able to really upload photos or videos from the church's internet…so I will have to scout out an internet cafe to upload photos from the month. In the meantime I'd like to share some photos from my morning and afternoon at Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Angkor Wat is an ancient complex of temples and stuff…that we think is over 1000 years old, if not more. There are 8 temples in the complex, and we went to the most popular three…Angkor Wat itself, another Wat I call the Faces Wat and the Tree Temple. The experience will cost you $20, which is steep, but who knows when you'll ever get another chance to go. We got there around 5:45 am to catch the sunrise, and the place was already filling up with tourists (and some hardcore photographers) from around the world. If you ever get the chance to go yourself, I'd say it's worth it. I'm glad I went. It wasn't amazing or mind-blowing…and it's hard to get me up at 4:45am for ANYTHING…but Angkor Wat proved to be worth the effort.

Love, love, love you guys! Thank you so much for all of your support and encouragement! Your prayers have brought our team a second wind, a renewed spirit and a fresh sense of what's ahead. Thank you, thank you! (I can't believe there's only four months left!)
