A
friend of mine once told me that beauty
is about living in the hour. Meaning
that you are the most beautiful when you are being yourself,
no matter what that looks like.
That
is what Clara is: BEAUTIFUL
Clara
is in her late 30’s.
She
graduated University almost 2 years ago.
She
studied computer technology.
She
speaks 7 different languages: Hungarian, French, German, English,
Italian, Russian, and Chinese.
She
has been unemployed for about 2 years.
She
hasn’t been able to pay rent for over a year. She is in jeopardy of
losing her flat.
I
met Clara at the Metro station the first time we did homeless
ministry. She was one of the only ones who spoke really good English.
We had a very intellectual conversation about the Trinity,
faith, and our will.
Clara
is a very intelligent individual- maybe too intelligent for her own
good. She is all in her head. She analyzes everything. Everything has
to have a meaning and a tangible application.
I
asked her if she believed in the Trinity. She believes in the deity:
God and the Holy Spirit. She doesn’t believe in Jesus. I shared John
14:6 with her, “I
am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father
except through me.â€ She doesn’t get that- she wants to know why…
she can’t see how that is true.
When
I left Clara, I challenged her- I challenged her to get out of her
head and more in her
heart.
Clara
is a beautiful woman who wants to
know more- desires to know more, but is stuck in everything she
knows.
