So, as many of you know, I’m on this incredible, literally-once-in-a-lifetime adventure called the World Race.
So far, I have learned to be unashamed of the Gospel, sat with two Chinese students and shared the Gospel, helped encourage some Chinese Christians in Harbin who were feeling weary and discouraged, learned more than I ever imagined I could about living in community, discovered one of my spiritual gifts, learned the art of intercessory prayer and fighting for my brothers and sisters through discourse with Jesus, made friends with and loved on prostitutes in Thailand, seen life flood back into children’s eyes as they realize they are seen and cared for for possibly the first time in their lives, sat on sidewalks with beggars, helped discover two new ministry contacts for AIM to partner with for future world racers, and been sang to and loved on so well by 200+ children living in a children’s home in Cambodia.
This list is nearly just a small scratch on the surface of what the Lord can do and has done. His love for His children all over the world is becoming so very real to me that it’s becoming my own heart.
The blessings I’ve experienced even this far on the journey are beyond my wildest expectations of what I imagined. I am by no means running on fumes, as I feel more filled than ever, but I just needed a catchy title…
For those who have supported me, in whatever way that has looked like, know that I feel well-loved and certainly supported. This journey is such a joint partnership, and I am thankful that I am able to share parts of it with you all through this blog.
To date, I have been blessed with $10,265 in support. Praise Jesus! This is incredible. I wanted to send an update with where I am currently at.
By the end of November, I need to have $11,000 in my support account. I’m almost there! I just need $735 more by the end of November. Though this deadline does portray a sense of urgency, I continue to trust the Lord that He has me right where He wants me.
After that, I will still need to raise $4,500 more for a total of $15,500 by the end of February.
If you have prayerfully considered and feel led to support the rest of my journey, there are two options:
- You can click the “Financial Support” link on the left-hand side of the page.
- You can write a check to:
Adventures in Missions
(“appealed by Lauren Schraa” in the memo line)
Mail to:

Please know that any amount is meaningful. The Lord is going to continue to do great things through this journey, and I am excited to share those things with all of you!
Know also that prayer support is ALWAYS welcomed and so necessary, too. Thank you for standing in the gap for me and my squad. Thank you for blessing my heart each and every day.
