Dear Racer,
Yes you.
Maybe your race is around the world, maybe around the block, or maybe around the kitchen preparing dinner. I’m not the only one on a Race right now. My squad, my team, we are not the only Racers. You, too, are on a Race of your own. You, too, are a Racer.
And your journey, it is now. Maybe you haven’t quite stepped out into your calling yet. Maybe you’ve been there for a long time. Maybe you are desperately praying for the Lord to open doors so that you may finally step out into that calling that you know has been pressed upon your heart for a reason. Maybe you are stepping out at this very moment. Wherever you are at in your journey, be there.
The few weeks leading up to Launch, I became aware of a beautiful realization. My Race does not start September tenth. Sure, that’s when I leave the United States and all that I know to begin a journey in China. But my Race, this Race, started the moment I discovered Adventures in Missions. This Race has already had its fair share of emotional baggage, fear, excitement, doubt, freedom, and joy. There have been moments already when the Lord’s presence has been more real to me than ever before. There have been nights when I lie awake feeling the weight of the world and thinking it will literally crush me under its overwhelming lies. There have been memories. There has been laughter and tears. There have been goodbyes. My Race has started. It is happening. And so is yours.
That is why we ought to seize this day, seize each moment, each memory, each joy, each tear, each doubt, each victory, and realize this: We are not working towards a journey. We are on it. Will other journeys, other Races, come out of this one we are on now? Absolutely. But this one still counts. And this Race, it is beautiful. So seize this day, seize this Race, for it is happening, and it is lovely.
My squad launches TOMORROW for China. Our flight is in the afternoon, and it is upwards of 14 hours. Jesus is already revealing himself. We have had a lot of time to spend with our teams, and I'm so excited to live with these ladies and spend our first month in China all together as a squad (48 of us) in Harbin. If you could be in prayer for safe travels and abundant joy as well as for all our families and friends back home. I also have raised approximately $11,000 with one time donations and monthly support that will be coming in. $4,500 until I reach the goal of being fully funded. Be in prayer for that as well. The Lord is working, moving, and revealing himself so intimately already. What a blessing it is to have so many supporters. Thank you all!
