Today I was reading in Matthew about how Jesus despised the Pharisees and the Scribes. Jesus went hard in chapter 23 where He spoke of His reasons why He hated them. As I was reading I realized that the sum of all the reasons why Jesus did not like the Pharisees and Scribes was because they were very prideful and made everything all about them. They had a bad case of the “It’s all about me” syndrome. The Pharisees and Scribes were supposed to lead people closer to God but instead they found ways to exalt themselves. They cared more about their reputation than what was in their heart. As a result everything that they so called did for God was in vain. How does this relate to my mission trip?

God is really cleaning my heart and constantly reminding me that this mission trip is so much bigger than me. This mission trip is about bringing glory to His name. As I fundraise for this trip I am constantly convicted on how can I make this more about God? This mission trip is more than a trip; it is a ministry. It’s about spreading God’s love across the world. It is about sacrificing world possessions and a traditional lifestyle to serve and preach the Gospel to the lost. It is more than the money. This fundraising process is definitely a time I will learn how to rely on God more than I ever have before. So every day I thank God that He constantly reminds me it is not about me!
