So my week of leadership never ended.

I ended up being officially instated as the team leader so that Erin could take the last week or so in the Philippines to rest and prepare to step into her new role of squad leader, which would begin at debrief.

The things I struggled with during my week of leadership didn't go away.  But I am learning to walk through them and rely on God for where I am insufficient.  It has been such a privilege to lead this team!  I am encouraged to see them stepping up to serve each other every day in new ways.

Although I am a different leader than Erin, it doesn't mean that I am a better leader.  Erin has told me several times already that I am going to be a better leader than she ever was.  We decided to agree that we are different people and we each had our own areas of strength and that is what makes us different as leaders.  There is no "better than you."

So now begins the adventure of balance: balance between new and old, balance between team and personal, balance between democracy and dictatorship, balance between work and fun.
