“You can turn around and walk away
Tell yourself there’s nothing here to see
Try so hard to look the other way
As if you haven’t noticed anything.”

No matter how hard you try to fight it, God is always presenting opportunities for you to bring the Kingdom to earth; whether it is the hungry stranger on the street or the person in the next cubicle over at the office.  Everyone is going through their own journey.  As the Sidewalk Prophets say in their song Save My Life, sometimes people are silently crying out “Tell me what I need to hear; tell me that I’m not forgotten.  Show me there’s a God who can be more than all I’ve ever wanted.  ‘Cause right now I need a little hope; I need to know that I’m not alone.  Maybe God is calling you tonight to tell me something that might save my life.”  Maybe God is calling you to say something.  What are you gonna do?  Silently fight it and refuse to open your mouth?

Did you ever go through something and then look back and feel like you passed up an opportunity?  As my time in the States is quickly coming to an end, this is a time of endings and new beginnings.  With the endings, I can’t help but look back on my group of friends, my job, my family, etc. and see all those missed opportunities to say what they needed to hear, when instead I said what I thought they wanted to hear.

As I stated in my last post, I am DEFINITELY leaving the country on September 4th to follow wherever God leads for the next year, but every day is a mission and everywhere you go is a mission field.

Instead of going about your life concerned about only what affects you, I challenge you to open your eyes to the people around you.  Maybe you have something to say that they need to hear.  I will be joining you in this challenge starting now.  Instead of being focused on the Race and what God has in store when I leave, I will choose to drop my concerns about my funds, packing and moving and really take the time to fully be present wherever I am, whoever I am with.  I owe it them.  I owe it to everyone.

Just TAKE THE TIME.
