I have a praise report I wanna share with you all
I was in Long Beach a few days ago visiting a friend, that I met on a previous Haiti trip. My friend is going to Haiti this Friday, so I wanted to see her before she left to give her stuff to take with her to Haiti.
The Lord gave my friend this opportunity to go not to long ago, and by faith she signed up just a few weeks ago!
I thought it would be awesome to go and of course I thought about going with her, but I didn’t think it would be possible.
I made a goal with myself. Since I am going to Cambodia in January (Lord-Willing), I said; I would aim to get all the money in for Cambodia before I go on any other mission trip.
I had no hope nor expatiation in going to Haiti this Friday, But the Lord had other plans.
While I was in Long Beach hanging out with my friend, the Lord really started to stir in my heart the desire to go with her.
Wednesday morning while we were walking in for women’s Bible study, my friend got off the phone with the Pastor she was going to Haiti with. She found out it was just going to be her and the Pastor going to Haiti, and in Haiti they would take a 6 hour bus ride to one of the Pastors church and stay the night there.
When she told me this. I looked at her intensely and said I WANT TO GO. She was like haha yeah that would be cool, but I was like, NO I REALLY WANT TO GO! I felt like crying, It was really heavy on my heart to go!
I told her we need to pray, cause I really want to go!
The Lord put this hope in mine and my friend`s heart that with God it is possible for me to go.
Throughout the women’s Bible study, I was just praying the whole time that GODS WILL WOULD BE DONE.
I told God, I know I made this goal to try and get all the money in for Cambodia before I go on any other trip, but you have placed this desire on my heart to go to Haiti, so if it is your will please make a way for me to go!
I was reminded of a few things when praying about going.
-“But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible”. Matthew 19:26
– “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen”. Ephesians 3:20-21
-“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you”. Matthew 7:7
I found myself kept repeating this verse:
“Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” Luke 22:42
I am so encouraged and thankful for this verse.
Jesus laid his request at Gods feet, asked him something, but said NEVERTHELESS NOT MY WILL, BUT THINE, BE DONE!
I am encouraged to do the same and thankful that I am able to lay my request at Gods feet. Confident in that, God not only hears me, but He answers me. But, in all that I ask Him, I want His will to be done because I know that His plan for me is better than the one I have for myself!
After the message at bible study, everyone had their small groups, to discuss what they learned. So my bestfriend and I joined my friend who is going to Haiti, small group.
My friend going to Haiti looked up the price for the air fair to see how much it would cost. For her the cost was $671. Since Haiti was only a week away, the price should have gone up a few hundred dollars!!! My friend prayed that the price would even be cheaper than what she paid (what FAITH?!). She looked it up, and IT WAS $100 CHEAPER, PRAISE GOD!
In order for me to go to Haiti, I needed $571 for the air fair and $300 for the stay in Haiti, ASAP!
I didn’t know how it would happen, but I knew if God wanted me to go He would MAKE A WAY. I was praying that God would stir in the hearts of others to support me, cause only God can stir in the hearts of people to want to donate their money!
As the small group was ending my friend going to Haiti was sharing with the women what to pray for. She told them how my best friend was leaving for Lebanon soon. Also how she is in need of somethings for Haiti still, and How I want to go with her but would need the funds. She said if any of you women are wanting to talk with us about the trips, and are wanting to support in anyway to come up to us after the small group is over.
As all the women left, my friend going to Haiti went to pick up her daughter in the child care. Sometime passed, and I went to go find her. I found her, and she handed me something.
I looked at it, IT WAS A CHECK FOR $571!
A lady after the small group went up to my friend, and asked how much my air fair would cost. She pulled out her check book, and wrote exactly what would cover the cost. She said God put it on her heart to sponsor me!
I jumped on my friend in excitement!
I was like WOW, this is a miracle, and only a work by GOD!
I thought, okay He is calling me to go. He covered my air fair, He will surely cover my $300 cost of staying in Haiti, in this next week. I don’t know how He would provide $300 in the next week, but I knew He would!
Not even 20 minutes later, another lady was talking to my friend, and God put on her heart to cover the rest! She wrote a check and gave it to me, it was $300!
God gave me a desire to go to Haiti, and not even 4 hours later He accomplished the desire –HE GAVE- by completely providing all that was needed to go, HE EVEN PROVIDED A SUITCASE!
“Who is like You among the gods, O LORD? Who is like You, majestic in holiness, Awesome in praises, working wonders?
Exodus 15:11
God is good… AMEN?!!
So this Friday, my friend Elaine, this Pastor from San Diego, and I, will be going to Haiti for seven days!
Please keep us in your prayers.
PRAY:
-that God would give us wisdom as we prepare for this trip, and while we are out in Haiti and when we come back
-We would be spirit lead in all that we say, do, or think
-God would give us the boldness to proclaim the Gospel
-We would be willing and obedient to whatever God calls us to do
-We would be flexible
-That our eyes would be fixed on God
-No distractions, our heart and minds would be guarded
-That we would be in unity, one mindset
-THAT WE WOULD BE PRAYING WITHOUT CEASING
-That we would be a blessing to the ministry and people in Haiti
-That we would do everything out of CHRIST LOVE
-God would protect us and keep us healthy
-God would protect our families and give them peace while we are away
