Hey there family and friends!
As most of you know, I was suppose to leave for a 9 month mission trip called “Gap Year” a few days ago.
God has closed the door and re-directed my steps!
Was I bummed?
Did I freak out, knowing I spent about 8 months preparing to leave for 9 months, to find out the door was closed, and I was no longer able to go?
Did I feel like God failed me?

During the time of preparing to leave for Gap Year, I saw this quote by Elisabeth Elliot that said,

I held on to that…. and still do!
My desire was to go on this 9 month mission trip to 3 different countries, but I kept being reminded,
if this doesn`t work out its for my good and God`s glory!
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
God could have easily provided for me to go on this trip, as He did for ALL the other people who went, with their radical testimonies on how God provided.
It wasn`t the money. It was simply, God re-directing my steps, closing one door – to open many others.
I was a little bummed, but I was more curious than anything.
Curious as to: What God Had planned for me!
I thought this 9 month mission trip was for me, I thought this was the FULL SHA-BANG, I thought nothing could get better than this, I thought it was what God was directing me towards…. Than God closes the door. So I was curious. Curious, thinking: WOW God has something bigger planned for me, AND I HAVE NO CLUE TO WHAT IT IS!

God closes one door – but – Opens another

Now that you all officially know I am not going on Gap Year,
I would like to update YA`LL with what I am doing, ( Lord-Willing 😉
– I will be going to Nicaragua with a few other people for two weeks, September 27 – October 13.
The ministry we will be serving with out there is a 3 month program for women to get off the streets, stop prostituting and focus on the Lord! We will be loving on the women in the program, encouraging them, praying with and for them, etc. We may get the chance to go into the streets and talk with the women who are selling their bodies for money, and share the Love of Christ with them!
– A few days after I get back, I leave to Haiti with Harvest for the 4th time, October 17 – 26.
I love Haiti so much, and I am very blessed to be able to go back. I feel at home in Haiti… well they do say….”your home is where your heart is at” ;). The ministry opportunities in Haiti are endless. A few things would be: Tent City Outreach, Church Service Assistance, Children`s Feeding Program, Orphanage, Medical Outreach, etc.
– In January I will be going to CAMBODIA for 3 MONTHS!
For all those who have donated towards the 9 month Gap Year trip, Thank you all again sooo much, and don`t worry I didn`t take your money and go shopping…Or did I ? 😮
….Okay, I didn`t. All your money has gone toward my Cambodia trip!!! Since Im not going on Gap Year, and I had $3,000 in my account, I chose to go on another trip through (AIM).
WHY CAMBODIA???
Good question!!!
In choosing where to spend 3 months, I had about 8 different countries to choose from.
Without reading the ministries of each country I would have chosen to go to Africa.
I was gonna choose Zambia… but then I read all the descriptions for each country.
To me, every ministry for all the countries sounded the same, except for ONE.
As I was reading all the descriptions, Cambodia`s ministry kinda just… THREW UP ON ME!
“Faced with inconceivable poverty, the desperate people of Cambodia turn to the only resource they believe they have left: their bodies. Debt schemes trap women in prostitution, and mothers often sell their daughters for meager sums of money. Children are traded as commodities and used to satisfy the twisted desires of others”
I chose Cambodia, because I felt that`s where the most need was.
Through the many ministry opportunities we will have in Cambodia,
Our main focus will be serving with sex trafficking.
—SHARING THE LOVE OF CHRIST—
(BRINGING LIGHT INTO THE DARKNESS – HOPE TO THE HOPELESS)
Though one door closed, many more were opened.
I don`t know what to expect from these up coming trips…
I have NOOO idea what God is gonna do in and through me, what He wants to teach and show me, How all of this is gonna tie together for something greater than I could have ever imagined, I have no idea… But, the good things is: I don`t need to know.
My only expectation is for God to show up, and for Him to do amazing things.
He just needs people who are willing, available and obedient to His call!
As we are all, not only CALLED but COMMANDED to, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28:19-20
Also God has been doing a great work in my family please keep them in your prayers!!!
Please continue to pray for me. I NEED YOU FAMILY, I CANNOT DO IT ALONE.
I LOVE YOU, Im so beyond blessed for you all, and so appreciative that you took the time to READ this LONG POST!
BONDYE BENI OU ( GOD BLESS YOU) <3
