For our first ATL (ask the Lord) month, my squad has ended
up in Tanzania! We’ve been here for about a week and team Pulse is in a town
called Mbagala within the city of Dar es Salaam. Mbagala is definitely a beach
town, as we are only twenty minutes away from the Indian Ocean coast. There is
no dirt or grass in our neck of the woods, only sand. I love the vibe of this
place… it has so much character. It reminds me a lot of what I picture Bethlehem to look like.
Islam is the primary religion here; the majority of folks in
Mbagala are practicing muslims. Even just having my hair exposed I feel way
underdressed compared to most of the women I see on the street. We will be
going door to door telling about Jesus, so please be praying for open hearts.
In Uganda we talked to a few muslim families about Christ, and Our contact this
month is a wonderful woman named Angelina. She is the wife of the Bishop of the
church, and they have graciously welcomed us into their home. We have been teaching english in the mornings to some of the women who work at our house. We’ve been also teaching english classes and computer classes in the evenings for people from around town who want to learn! It’s been quite fun getting to know them. Some of us also get to go door to door and share Christ’s love with people we encounter.
him that’s where I’m from, and he just smiled. I don’t think he understood. Please continue to keep us in your prayers – lots and lots of people on my squad have malaria. Praise God team Pulse is healthy for right now. But the rest of my squad could use your prayers. Also, for motivation and a passion for reaching these people and serving them anyway we can.
