In the last week, O squad have been to 5 different cities, in 4 different countries! Lots of traveling recently. We left our wonderful contacts in Tanzania and stayed in Nairobi for a few nights of debrief. From there, we ventured to Bangkok, stopping briefly in Qatar. And now I am in northern Thailand, the city of Chaing Mai! This will be my home for the month of December. I want to tell you about our ministry this month, but first I need to introduce to you some very special people! With this continent change, we have gotten another team change. I love each of my old team members dearly and will miss them. But I absolutely adore these newbies! Here is my new team, team Harmony:
The definition of Harmony is ‘a musical combination of sounds, pleasing arrangement of parts, lack of conflict, internal calm.’ Our focus for this team name was to be on unity, and we desire this team to be harmonious before the Lord. Harmony just fits us well 🙂
Carrie and I got to work together for 2 months in Europe. I adore this woman of God. She’s absolutely hilarious and she knows who she is. Tom and Casey are about the cutest couple I ever did see. I’m delighted to be able to see a godly marriage in action, and also the reality of marriage. Tyler just can’t seem to get rid of me! He is the leader of team Harmony, and I count it a huge blessing to be on his team. I would follow him anywhere. Angela is seriously like an angel to me. Her heart blows me away. She just gets me; a true and lasting friendship I have found in this beautiful girl. Garrett overflows with the joy of the Lord! He has such insight to the spiritual realm, and peace spills out whenever he speaks. How lucky am I to be surrounded by these fabulous people?!!!
This month of ministry looks a little different from every other one. Our guys all work together in what they like to call “man-istry”, doing physical labor and such at an orphanage in northern Thailand. Us ladies are residing right in the middle of Chaing Mai city. During the afternoons, half of us will help out at a snazzy little coffee shop!!!!!! Girls who have gotten out of prostitution are given opportunities to work at Wongen Kafe, and we will be right alongside them this month serving up some lattes! The other half of us will be hanging out at Chaing Mai University, which is right across the street from the cafe and is home of 35,000 students. Building relationships is our focus, as we get to know the people of this city and just show them love. At night, we are going to be in the red light district, also building relationships there with the girls we meet. Half of us will be staying back to intercede in prayer for those of us who go out at night. We are so excited for this month!
I have 1 week to get $2,000 in my support account. I know that if the Lord wants me to finish the race, He will provide.
