Never in my life before have I trusted God with such a reckless abandon that I made an extremely whimsical life decision based solely off of that trust. I want to invite you into an adventure, let’s check it out!
About two years ago, I went to a conference in Denver and heard about this thing called The World Race. Like you, I thought this was some reality TV show where you go and complete silly team objectives to win a prize. I quickly found out that I was thinking of the wrong “race”. For those of you who don’t know, The World Race is a Christian mission trip that spans 11 months while traveling to 11 different countries around the globe. While on the race, each squad (about 5-10 people) will partner with churches in these countries to share the gospel and their experiences with many unique individuals, feed the poor, heal the sick, minister to women and children who have fallen victim to modern day human trafficking, plant churches, and work in orphanages.
When I heard about this opportunity, I was too young to go, but I just recently turned 21 and started to think of a way to be a difference maker. I wanted to take a risk. I remember thinking of the World Race out of the blue and like a push in the back, I heard the words “Go. Just go Kody, I’ve got you covered. Trust me.” Now, as I write this, I can’t believe that it’s been exactly one month since I turned in my application, been accepted, and now am making my first steps to going on an adventure with a group of people that God has called to travel the globe to share who Jesus is and what he’s done in our lives!
Here’s the thing, I can’t do this thing on my own. Not by any stretch of the imagination do I think that I can pull this off by myself. That’s where you come in! I sincerely want to invite you into this adventure with me! I’m departing in September 2015 and need to raise $15,500 to be fully funded for this trip. This cost covers all of my expenses in the field for all 11 months of the trip. I would be so grateful if you would consider donating $25 monthly (that’s about 5 lattes!) or some other amount to raise the funds to go on this adventure. If you are unable to give financially (I completely understand), I ask that you would join my team and I in prayer that God would move in miraculous ways and change the lives of many, including mine!
