Hello from Ukraine!!
This month, we have been staying in the capitol city, Kiev. We spend our days mostly on the metro going to and from various college classes where we talk about America, our travels, and ourselves.
Europe is everything I remembered it to be. Charming, sophisticated, freaking cold… I love it here.
One of the things I was looking forward to, since we are in Europe, was to hope on a train and go exploring. So this past weekend, Rachel, Mark, Courtney and I hopped onto a train and headed for Lviv. No translator, no plans, just determined to eat as much chocolate and drink as much coffee as our bodies would allow us to.
Saturday night we boarded our train at 8:08pm, arrived in Lviv at 5:30am, spend all day exploring, then loaded back onto the train at 1:30am back to Kiev.
one of the best ‘rest’ days I’ve had on the race
<3
we started walking.
biggest lattes I’ve ever seen. 1/2 litter.
…and then we found the chocolate factory
*dear Olya, I didn’t explode from eating chocolate. Thank you for your concern*
<3
…and then we walked some more.
mark acted as our tour guide *thanks mark!!*
…and then we heard singing. so we followed it.
…and then we hiked to the highest part of the city
…then we went to that one restaurant that was ‘secret’
…and then we kept walking
loved this city. love this country!!
For more days in Ukraine!! I can’t believe how fast time is flying. I already miss the friends I’ve made here…
