What should have been a 7 hour travel day from Orange County, California to Fort Lauderdale, Florida turned out to be a 20 hour travel day. And what should have been 8 hours of sleep before leaving for the airport for my flight to the Dominican Republic turned into having only enough time to take a shower at the hotel and head back to the airport. I could go into all the details of what caused the delays (and there are A LOT), but it isn´t worth it. By all accounts I should be pretty cranky and justly upset with the airline. But you know what? My joy is not robbed. In fact, I found myself smiling and laughing at every delay the enemy put in my path because I know the God that I serve! And it wasn´t until the last leg of my journey as I traveled by Super Shuttle from Miami Airport to my hotel in Fort Lauderdale that the picture became very clear on why I was suppose to arrive so late. His name is Wellington. He was my driver and we had the most amazing conversation about life and God. I was so energized by our chat (which took place as he was driving through a torrential downpour) that I knew it was a divine appointment. And you know what? This will be my life for the next 11 months and I don´t want to miss out on any opportunity the Lord has waiting for me because I was too focusing on the delays.

Lord, stop me in my tracks if it means a divine appointment awaits. Interrupt my schedule if it is your will. Thank you for the lesson yesterday. And time for the shower. And for what lies ahead.
