Hey everybody,

I just wanted to take a minute to let you all know whats going on here in Nicaragua and what our ministry will look like as we head to Thailand.
Here in Nicaragua my team, as well as team REV217, had the opportunity and priviledge to live on Ometepe Island at an orphanage named CICRIN.  Here we had many different opportunities to serve.  Things like working in the kitchen, taking care of 2 little girls (ages 18months and 4), working in the garden and working with the local church became apart of our daily routine.  Although we hoped to have blessed these kids in staying with them, I know that I speak for my whole team when I say that they blessed us more.  These kids in their playfullness and willingness to love, stole our hearts.  In moments of quiet time we were able to learn parts of their story and speak (in what broken spanish that would could) about how we love them and how God loves them.  More so however, we learned about being the hands and feet of Christ, for where our spanish failed to express just how we felt, our hugs, kisses, and smiles seemed to come into play and say what our hearts felt far better than our words ever could.  I left a part of my heart in CICRIN, and I’m so blessed and honored that Christ allowed me to be apart of these kids lives, even if just for a short time.
As many of you know our squad is getting ready to head to Thailand.  Here we will split up, guys and girls, and go our separate ways for the month.  As women we will be working in the Red Light District working with the prostitutes and doing bar ministry.  Here I can only ask for your prayers.  Although I am so excited for Thailand, and my heart is already breaking for these girls, the spiritual atmosphere in this place is going to be heavy and I would ask that you  would cover us in your prayers.  We know that we are called, and we are walking in with our armor on, but we also understand that this will be a battle that many of us have never faced before, at least not to this level.  I am so excited to speak life and love into these girls… who truly have no idea the value that they have.  Many of them are between the ages of 14 and 16 and all they know is poverty and then a life of prostitution.  These girls stories usually consist of a theme of parents not having enough money to feed their family and then sending their daughters off to the city and asking them to send home any and all money that they obtain.  These girls not only carry their own spiritual weight, but also the weight of providing for their families, and they have been lied to that this is the only way to do that.
Please keep us in your thoughts, and more importantly prayers as we head to Thailand.  Also please be praying for the guys as they are heading to Northern Thailand for a month of hard physical labour and ministry (check out their sites to read more).
Thank you for your love and support… I’m so happy here and God is doing so much.  I’m learning that He truly knows me better than I know myself for I have more joy, growth, and peace in doing this thing that I never dreamed of then I even did walking in my plans.
Thank you Thank you!
