Surprise!
This blog is making a comeback. Hallelujah holla back! I am extremely excited about this because I get to share with you briefly how the Lord has been moving me in new directions recently.
For the past 3 months I have been crazy blessed to be living in San Diego, California.
BUT NOW…I’m moving to Georgia!!!! (Sorry I don’t have a picture of Georgia yet…)
You may have some questions like….
WHAT (are you getting into now)?!?!
This January I will be moving to Georgia for at least 4 months to participate in a year long program called the Center for Global Action. This program is through Adventures In Missions, the same organization as the World Race. I will be trained in leadership, missions, and potentially a third area of focus while doing an apprenticeship, spending part of my time alongside AIM staff to get hands on experience in a specific field (ex: community development, the World Race, Photography/Videography, leadership, etc). I will also have the opportunity while in Georgia to work with a program that supports women who have been trafficked in the past. After the first 4 months I will consider doing my next semester and continued training in one of their other locations overseas.
WHY (would you want to do that)?!?!
Following the race I knew missions was something I wanted to continue, but didn’t know exactly what the Lord was going to lead me to do specifically. I didn’t know what I was passionate about so I started to pray and felt God saying to simply sit and tell him the desires of my heart. So for about two months I told him I wanted him to give me a passion that could be used to further his kingdom and love people. Like a serious, fiery passion for something that would set me in motion to put forward everything I have to offer the Lord. Over time he did exactly that. He gave me a passion for justice and when this interest started to evolve, it quickly turned into something that went deep into my heart and stirred my emotions. Hooray! That is what passions do
I began brainstorming ways to take steps toward implementing change through missions and I found that CGA is a very fitting way to step toward long-term missions where this passion for justice could come to life tangibly. The Lord has lodged these verses into my heart and mind and I am resolved, by his strength, grace and leading, to respond to them:
Psalm 82:3-4
?“Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”
HOW (are you going to do that)?!?!
This is an extremely exciting opportunity and I am asking you to invest in it with me. Just like the World Race, this is a support raised program where I will rely on God moving in the hearts of donors to make this possible. I believe that through this training program, God is going to equip me with the skills and knowledge necessary to propel myself and others to follow this call internationally. Partnering with me both financially and in prayer is a fruitful endeavor. You will be enabling lives to change as you believe in how the Lord is working through me to “give justice” to those who are weak and needy.
The total cost for 1 year is $9,950 which will cover everything I need to provide for myself during this time including housing, food, and gas, PLUS an added bonus of the opportunity to lead a week long international missions trip!! Pretty cool, eh?? Please consider supporting me by either monthly donations or a one time payment through the “Support Me” link on the left side of this blog. I believe that we all have the power to change one person’s world at a time, in our homes or across the globe, and all it takes is a little investment.
You are great!
