Hi friends and family!

So…it is Monday, June 4th and I leave Tulsa, America at 6am tomorrow morning.  We leave Atlanta at 6:30pm for London where we have a 12 hour layover, switch airports, and sight see for a bit.  Then we have a direct 12 hour flight to Johannesburg, South Africa. From there…the sky is the limit!  : )

I don’t think I can say I am 100% ready for this adventure, but really…how do you prepare for something like this?!?!  Too late for any suggestions.  Preparation is over and the journey begins.  I am excited and ready to hit the road!

Hope you all enjoy your summer and look forward to sharing this journey with you!

Much love!

Jessie

Packages

Another little bit of information…I realize I should be far from homesick in the next two months, but I am able to receive packages and letters in South Africa.  I would love to receive package love, some but will not at all be offended if they are few since I will just be out for 2 months.  Please be sure you are VERY clear about the following instructions as otherwise it will cost me a ton in Customs. Also remember that international mail very easily gets lost.

Packages can be mailed to the us while in Africa. DO NOT send any valuables through the mail and
clearly state a $0 value for the package. Note that it is a gift with no commercial value. This helps avoid taxes through customs. Packages must arrive no later than July 30 – allow extra time than what the postal service tells you.
