This is my favorite time of year, Thanksgiving almost here and then the month Christmas anticipation until Dec. 25th!! I have no idea how it is almost the end of this year though, time really begins to fly as you get older, it’s almost scary!!
This year though the end of December brings with it the excitement of launching at the beginning of January, wow!! So exciting and yet so daunting in terms of everything that needs to still get sorted and taken care of before you can take off for 11 months. My list that keeps growing and needing to checked and re-checked looks something like this:
malaria prescription, buy backpack raincover, buy mosquito net, notify credit card company, arrange for car storage, buy waterproof sandals, print fundraising recital programs, buy extra harp insurance, Chinese visa application progress, learn to play ukulele, cancel gym membership in Dec., prep tax documents as much as possible, finish changing harp strings…………..
and on and on it goes!! Each day just relying on God for strength and asking Him to order my time and give me wisdom to know what I can get done each day. In some of my most stressful moments lately I hear Him remind me of verse 10 of Psalm 46;
“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Such a powerful reminder to be told to just “be still”, to remember that stressing and worrying is never glorifying to God and never helpful for ourselves. I am also so grateful that God is already placing me in this place of dependence on Him, as I know it will be essential each day of next year to give up control over every moment and choose to live in complete surrender to what His plan for that day is.
Please keep me in your prayers as always, I know God will be faithful and everything that needs to be completed before I go will be accomplished, except maybe learning the ukulele, haha!!

In chilly Wisconsin for Thanksgiving!!

Have a blessed and thankful Thanksgiving, thank you for reading!! : )
