Something amazing happened the other day. A good friend of mine, Dale Hjost, has been helping me out a ton with support raising. I met him on a Guatemala mission trip; he plans these from his church every summer. Since then, I’ve kept in touch with him an his daughter. He called me the other day and gave me some great news. He told me that he didn’t think I knew what he actually did, and that he was an investment banker. He told me that he works with a lot of wealthy clients, one elderly lady in perticular. He said that he has no kids or family, and has become like an adopted grandmother to him and his kids. he said he always encourages her to give her money away while she is alive, so that when she passes away, she won’t have a mountain of money and no one to leave it to. So…he said excitedly…”I told her about your race, and because of that, I now have a check for you for $2,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m sorry, come again???? I don’t even know her!!!!! And that is how it happened. Just another reminder that God is completely in this and taking care of things just as he does best. I was so overjoyed and humbled at the same time; it was such a weird feeling. But somewhere in the back of my mind I wasn’t suprised. Somehow I knew that God was going to show up in His own God-sized way. Unexpected, and bigger and better than I had planned. Just like He would do.

Its situations like this that make me sit back and just think about how blessed I am to even be a part of this mission. God asked me to do this, and I said yes. That’s it. I just responded to the call. You know, its kind of a dangerous thing telling the Lord, “Here I am Lord, send me.” You are putting everything you are and wish to be in His hands and trusting that He will take you where you need to go. Its exciting, but really scary at the same time. Have any of you read Wild Goose Chase? A very dear friend of mine named Kristen reccommended it to me. Its about following the Holy Spirit and how when you rruly follow the Holy Spirit’s calling, it feels like a wild goose chase. It changed my life! You ALL need to read it before we leave in July!!!! You will all love it….

Until next time! besos! 🙂
