Racers we’re given the opportunity to invite their parents out for a week on the missions field and my parents said YES!
This is called Parent Vision Trip (PVT). Adventures in Missions believes in intergenerational ministry and this trip “exists to provide an opportunity for Parents and their World Racers to experience missions together, to catch up on what God has been doing, and perhaps provide a space to take steps toward healing and reconciliation where needed.”
We will be working with the Adventures in Missions Swaziland base in Manzini and Nsoko, at various Care Points with the children, cooking for and feeding up to 7,000 children, teaching, playing, and doing skits. We may also be doing home visits in the area to share the Gospel and pray for anyone in need.
This is very way out of my parents comforts zones and I’m beyond proud and excited that they’ve accepted the invitation. Tomorrow they will take off for a sweet adventure in South Africa to celebrate their wedding anniversary; then head to see one of the natural wonders of the world, Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe; and then meet me in Swaziland on September 27th!
I haven’t seen my parents since January 10th so I know there will be many tears during our reunion. It’s still so surreal that in 10 days I will get to hug them! Please be in prayer for their travels and our time together on the field in Africa.
God has big plans in store for PVT, I can’t wait to see how He shows up.
