I know it is only month 5 but, I’m not sure an adventure day could get any better than this past weekend! We headed to Chiang Mai after an awesome month in Khon Kaen for an overnight trip at Elephant Jungle Sanctuary. We spent two days exploring different areas of the jungle in Chiang Mai hiking, swimming in waterfalls, and playing with elephants! We had a lot of expectations going into the two days of what they would be like; I would have to say majority, if not all of them were met and exceeded. However, we did not take into consideration all of the extra realities that come with spending time with elephants . . . you know the pictures that don’t usually make it to social media, so of course I wanted to share them with all of you!
Expectations:
Reality:
Elephants don’t actually pose for pictures, so when you pose in their walking path you may be run over:
When a laugh slowly turns into panic and run because multi-ton animals are headed your way:
If you run out of food babies will just walk away, you are no longer of interest:
Or better yet, they’ll just bulldoze right into you:
Your phone is easily mistaken for a banana and elephants will try to steal it:
The water is not only where we played with the elephants and watched them drink but, it is also their bathroom:
Washing the elephants after the mud-bath is a ridiculous arm workout:
Elephant kisses consist of your face being sucked on:
Humans are friends not food:
