Here’s a glimpse into one of my favorite days on the race…
Our first stop was a nursing home where we shared the gospel and a few elderly women gave their lives to Christ!!!
The lady I was sitting next to pulled me down onto her lap and then kept on hugging and kissing me, following me hand in hand all the way out to our bus with tears in her eyes as we said “chow.”
As the bus pulled away I sat in awe of how God showed up and showered His love onto these people. That’s something worth celebrating!
Our day proceeded with lowering ourselves into the ground and exploring the depths of an eerie cave!
After eating our bagged lunch outside in what looked like a vacant colosseum, we traveled to an old fortress that used to serve as an entry way between countries in the Balkan mountain range.
Looking over the mountains we could see Serbia!
The day ended with a hot shower and a home cooked meal of oven baked chicken with vegetables, and sitting around our living room/make-shift bedroom doing a bible study and sipping hot tea as a thunderstorm rolled in.
This was one of my favorite days on the race because of the people I got to share it with. Pastor, Polly, and everyone from the church have made the month so special. And for the last 4 months these women and I have experienced an epic chapter of faith and wonder together.
There you have it…a (favorite) day in the life on the race!
Thank you for being a part of this journey with me!
