Here is a fun Easter egg activity we did with some kids on a rainy day in Romania.
You will need:
hard boiled eggs
egg dye – color of your choice
nylons cut up into small pieces
string or rubber bands
small leaves that you picked from outside
vegetable oil
First choose the leaf or leaves you want. Place it on your egg while putting your nylon over the the leaf and egg. Use your string or rubber band and stretch the nylon around the egg and tie it together.
Put your egg carefully in the dye. The dye in Romania is simmering on the stove and is much brighter than in the states.
Leave your egg in the dye as long as you like. The longer it stays in the color the brighter it will be.
Let your egg cool and cut off the nylons when cool to touch.
Rub the oil over your egg to make it shine!
Enjoy your pretty eggs.
