Hello, Kid's Creek!  Next week I'll be going to Japan.

We were not supposed to go to Japan from the start, but that changed. The main reason was because our squad leader, Zach is called to be a missionary to Osaka, Japan. When we are done in Japan, he is leaving us and staying there.

Let me tell you about Zach. First of all, he is 23 and has been our leader and mentor these past 4 months already. He loves to rock climb and slack line just like me. He likes to grow out his beard and his laugh is hysterical. He is also writing 2 sci-fi books! He loves everyone. And I really mean that. He has a smile on his face all the time and when he sees you, he must give you a hug because he is so happy to see you.

But my favorite thing about Zach is that God is calling him to be a missionary in Japan and he is being obedient to God's call in his heart. Japan is less than 10% Christian and Japan is known as a graveyard of missionaries. It doesn't mean that missionaries die in Japan. It just means that people are not open to the gospel in Japan and churches are not growing.

Will you pray with me for Zach this month and that God would change that idea of Japan being a graveyard of missionaries and instead to being open and ready to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ?
