Do you remember the scene at the end of the movie The Jerk with Steve Martin where he has lost his fortune and decides he doesn't need it anyway?  He's a mess.  His pants are at his ankles and he moans that he doesn't need any of it.  Except for this ash tray.  That's all I need.  This ash tray, this paddle ball game, the remote, the matches, this table lamp.  And that's all I need.  I don't need anyth-I need this.  The ash tray, this ball game, the remote, the matches, the lamp, and this chair.  And that is all I need.  And this magazine.

Yeah, so that has been me.  Do you remember my confident words this past year how I'm learning to give it all up and live simple out of a backpack for a year?  Well, while most of that is true, I'm finding I'm a bit like that Jerk.  Well I don't need any of this.  Except for this nail polish and this fan.  That's it.  That's all I need.  And this.  Yeah, this dress, the nail polish and this fan and that's all I ne- and this hammock.  And that's all I need.  And this.

They longer I pack the more I am pretty sure I need more the closer I get to the door.
Total weight for my bag at check in this morning for training camp: 44 lbs.  Whoops.  I'm supposed to come under 35.

This is my pre-training camp memory with more to follow.

PS-
There is a hurricane coming.  Awesome.  I didn't make room in my pack for that one.
