A Language Without Words

As I entered through the customs of Thailand my mind started to wonder: Now that we are out of Spanish speaking countries what I’m going to do to communicate? How to properly deliver the message of love that God wants me to express? Take a moment to reflect on that. How to properly communicate love when words get lost in translation?

Love is a language. Unlike any other language words are not really necessary for love. Rather than words it takes action to ultimately express it. God, the creator and expert of this language, teaches us this over and over. It teaches us through His forgiveness, His mercy, and the way He looks for us when we are lost. The biggest example of love through action is when Jesus died for our sins. Jesus didn’t just came to us and exclaim “I love you!” He let us men take Him, imprison Him, beat Him, humiliate Him, and kill Him because the love He has for us is far more than we can possibly ever give. He didn’t say it, He just simply did.

Now the moment of the truth! We are spending an entire weekend in a Burmese refugee village where there are a lot of kids waiting to be shown what love is all about. What did we do? We let them be with us. We didn’t neglect them. We didn’t let the language barrier be a reason to create limitations between us. We tried to learn their language and their names. We let them follow us as we visited people around the village and prayed for them. We let them lead us to a river in which the water didn’t look too clean. We jumped in the water with them. We let them join us in our moment of worship. We carried them in our shoulders as we strolled around the village. We sat with them during the church service. Not many words were spoken, just actions.

Beloved readers, God created men, gave them intelligence, gave them the power to communicate, to make noises, and to learn spoken languages. But the first language He created is the ultimate language of them all. The language of love. Like any other language, it takes practice and consistency for us to become fluent. Talk less to express love and do more to show love.

God bless.

In an update of my current fundraising, I’m still short $5,000 for my final deadline coming next month. I’m a strong believer that when it is God will He will provide. I will continue in any blog I post to thank all of you who been my supporters at any point of my life. This journey would not be possible if it wasn’t for God and for those who want to see the will of God be done throughout the world. Please prayerfully consider helping me reach my final deadline so that I can finish this amazing journey.
