It’s only days before Christmas and all around the world,
People are celebrating – lots of little girls and little boys.
Still, there are many who don’t know his name…
This is the reason that we can’t stay the same.
We have our Christmas trees, tinsel and lights,
While people continents away have to really fight –
Just to survive one more day, one more night.
This poem isn’t meant to place guilt or condemn,
It’s simply meant to get you focused on Him.
Jesus Christ is the reason for this season
And we go to make sure the world sees Him.
Not presents, fancy parties or bows,
It’s way more important that all may know
Christ – who left heaven and was born in a stable,
It was part of God’s plan to make it able,
For us to be reconciled – every mother and child.
Because that baby grew to a strong and true man,
One that would soon have his hands
Pierced for our sins and mistakes.
All so that we could believe, trust and then make
Much of His Name for the Glory of His Name’s sake.
When Christ was born the angel said “Good news!
Today a savior has been born to you!”
His birth was reason to celebrate,
To give glory to God, who, in his great
Love, provided a sacrifice for us all –
Something much greater than Santa at the mall.
We choose to celebrate Christ for who He is,
Almighty, Holy and True –
Not so we can pray for a new pair of shoes.
Jesus isn’t around to bring us health, wealth and less strife,
He is the prize to be worshipped and adored – we owe Him our life!
I pray if you’ve heard nothing else that this would be clear,
Jesus is King and his Kingdom is near.
Give him your life, your love, your path
And you will only find satisfaction in good times and bad.

Merry Christmas to all my family and friends!
I miss you like crazy but I’m serving here ‘til the end
(…of the Race that is. See you in June!!)
