Hello there! You may be one of the faithful followers of my blog or this could be the first time you’ve stumbled upon it. Either way, I’m glad you’re here and I want to ask you to read along today as I have some important info to share. You’re obviously interested in missions, the Lord, and the many incredible ways that he is working in the nations. Currently, I’m in Nepal, but by next week my team and I will be traveling to Kenya to serve. This journey has been going by so quickly as we’ve hopped from country to country, from continent to continent. I have made friends in Bulgaria, Romania, India and Nepal. Dear believers have taught me things in each place and the Lord has continually grown my passion for his Word and the desire to share that Word with the world.
I am many miles and hours away from North Carolina but I know that the Spirit is still working in hearts back home. Specifically, he is stirring the hearts of a family in my home church as they are preparing to go to the mission field for him. The Heath family – Sean and Crissy, along with their four children: River (8), Lake (7), Sailor (6) and Autumn (4), will be leaving in January to go to Peru for one year. Sean and Crissy teach a Sunday School class at my home church and they have also made several short term trips to Peru to do mission work. They are people after the Lord’s heart and they have continued to encourage me on my missionary journey as well. It has been a joy to see the Lord growing their heart for missions and to see their faith increase as they take this next step with their family.
The Heaths are currently building a support system for prayer and finances as these are both very important for missionaries to serve. I can testify to the goodness of the Lord as he provided MORE than enough financial support for my World Race. Still, I feel the prayer support more than anything. I see things happening here in Nepal and in my own life and I know that there are faithful saints back home praying for me everyday.
Please know that your role in missions is a huge one. Whether that’s giving your time, prayers or money – all can be used for the Kingdom. I love what Dave Barnes sings, “Prayers and money should not be confused, but I pray that both still are used.”
I would ask you to prayerfully consider supporting Sean and Crissy’s family as they have boldly stepped out to share Jesus with those waiting to hear the good news in Peru. You can find more information and hear their story in their own words on their blog: (click here =>) http://heathfamilyjustlovejesus.blogspot.com/. Also, their Peru missions video is below. Take time to check it out now, because if you’re like me you could get distracted. Write a sticky note and pray about it!
Please pray for them as they prepare to go, pray for the transition period and for language learning. Also, please pray about supporting them financially. If the Lord is not asking you to give to them I know that he is asking you to use your life and resources in some other way for his glory. We serve a great God!
