As we’ve continued to prepare for your trip, we have looked into
Internet and communication availability in Haiti. I want to update you
guys on what is planned…
1) Internet is available in most
locations. However, ALL internet is very slow. Because of this, your
leaders will be collecting stories of all God is doing and posting blogs
for you. This will keep us from crashing the internet as all 50 people
try and do blogs and emails.
2) If a parent needs to get in
touch with you for emergency purposes, the #1 best method is to have
them call our Emergency Line. That phone number is 678-701-8191 and is
answered 24/7. They should NOT plan to get in touch with you over email
or blogs. Our field support team will then get in touch with your team
leaders in Haiti to relay any messages to you.
3) Because of
this, there is no reason for you to bring a laptop. Laptops make you a
high target for thiefs.
