simplicity and stillness

Simplicity is the path in which I am growing in my daily walk with God. Lately however, I’m finding myself
wrinkling my forehead and squinting my eyes to hear His voice. I wrote something in
my journal recently.

I know where my heart is and my mind, but I do not know why I cannot refrain.
The future holds greatness and so much joy, I know this, but why am I not able
to focus on the present? I do not struggle or find frustration holding me down,
but simple curiosity in the unknown wall challenges the depths of me knowing
me. God find me.

This morning I
closed my eyes and listened. I listened intently to hear that beautiful voice
I’ve struggled hearing for far too long. I heard, “Be
still and I will find you.”

         There are no
puzzle pieces needing placement or hidden messages in His words. I do not have
to chase Him. Simplicity and stillness is where He will find me. Deuteronomy
4:29 reads,

“But if from there you seek the Lord our
God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all
your soul.”

I now know seeking does not always involve moving. Listening, waiting, and
believing are also tools to find Him and what our heart’s need and desire.
