In case you are unaware I’ve been home for about two weeks now.
In these past couple of weeks I cannot tell you how many people have welcomed me home and asked how my trip went.
Honestly, I can’t really explain how it went.
But I can tell you this.
In 9 months I went to 3 (well, 4) different countries.
3 different continents.
I worked with 3 different ministries.
I met countless people and made long-lasting relationships.
I did construction, taught, helped, served, and loved.
I ate really weird food and spoke in different languages.
I climbed a volcano, parasailed an ocean, and went on a safari.
So what?
All of it is meaningless.
It will all fade.
But Jesus won’t.
I pray that you won’t remember all the “good things” I did, but instead that you would remember Jesus.
Please forget about me.
Forget about everything I did, everywhere I went, and all I experienced.
Because it is nothing without Jesus.
Without Jesus, everything I did would have been purposeless.
Without Jesus, I wouldn’t have came home a different person.
He just used me as a vessel.
Trust me, there were some days on the race when I didn’t even want to do ministry.
When I didn’t want to talk to anyone, to love anyone, or serve anyone.
So why did I do it anyways?
Not because of my own will, but His.
Jesus is my purpose, my reason for everything I do.
So as years go on and you forget about this trip, forget about all it did, forget about even things I did.
I’m begging you, don’t forget about Jesus.
Don’t forget about all He has done and will continue to do.
If you only remember one thing from this whole journey of mine I hope that it is Jesus.
If you remember Jesus from my journey, it makes every hardship and every glorious moment I went through worth it.
Because I didn’t do this trip for myself or my own glory.
I did it for Jesus because He wanted me to do it for you.
P.S. as this chapter of my life closes I just want to give a huge THANK YOU to everyone who supported me financially and prayerfully over the past year. You have no idea how much it has meant to me. We did it y’all!!!
P.S. x2 many people have asked, “what’s next?” well, for the summer I will be working at camp and for the fall I will return to Centenary college to continue my degree in Biochemistry, as well as being a part of the golf team!!! Jesus is too good to me 🙂
