Hello all,

As I sit here writing this post my time serving here at camp is almost over, only 2 and a half weeks left. Then I will be at training camp and then BOOM, the race will be here!

Am I ready? No way!

Is God ready? Heck yeah!

Let me just start out by saying how amazing this summer has been. I would have never thought that God would use SO many moments here that I know are preparing me for the race. It is a really cool thing to see. You know what else is cool, every week I get to watch about 200 or more students turn their lives over to Christ. Like how insane is that.

But camp has also been hard sometimes. Through the hard times, God is teaching me how important it is to be in every single moment. To be there as it comes, not anxiously awaiting the next moment to arrive.

All summer I’ve been waiting for that “God moment”, particularly with fundraising. It is really easy as a racer to read other peoples blogs and expect someone to walk up to you and give you $1,000 or to get an anonymous donation that will fund your trip. While that would still be awesome, I’ve realized that it is not reality for every person that goes on this trip.

The truth is God is way more than the $3,700 I have left to fundraise. God is bigger than any moment I have experienced or will experience. Even when I watch over 200 students give their life to Christ in a week, He is still bigger.

Being in a relationship with Christ is not all about the feel good moments. As much as I want to be fully funded, God is making me wait and teaching me so many things. In John 13 God says, “You may not understand now what I am doing, but soon you will”.

When I am halfway across the world trying to pray for someone and trusting that God will heal them, I will have to have real trust and real faith. Giving God control of my fundraising is one way my faith and trust will be improved for those situations.

Plus, I already have everything I need. In Matthew it says, “Therefore I tell you whatever you ask for in prayer believe that you have received it and it will be yours.” Wow, why am I even concerned with money? An earthly fleeting thing.

I have everything I could ever need. God is way bigger than any amount of money, or any cool moment I want to experience. God has already provided in ways I could have never imagined, and you know what? He will continue to provide in ways I can never imagine.

Whether it is in a big way or a small way, He will provide. I am believing and trusting so much more in His sovereignty. Our God is SO big!

Whatever we ask in prayer we will receive IF we have faith. (Matthew 21:22)

Love and blessings,

Gabbi 🙂
