well hello again, or hello for the first time. Lets get right to it, you read my title and were probably thinking, Army wives? as in the show? yes you guessed it right. though I am talking about the show army wives, I am not here to talk about how much I sobbed when I found out they killed Claudia joy in the show. I am here to talk about the commitment and passion. The commitment the Soldiers had in the show, The willingness to risk their lives for what they believed in, the respect and the passion they had for their mission. Are we not the same? An Army of the lord.
I am a Huge believer of God can and does speak to us in the most random ways. When i was watching the soldiers deploy, and they would tell the family I am deploying and i am going where my country needs me the most,That sentence kept playing in my head over and over again. They leave everything that matters to them to go full fill their calling. without any hesitation. That was when it hit me, When God says jump we should say how high and not, “wait a minute,will you catch me after i jump?, Am i wearing the right shoes?, should i change out my heels?, where do I put the stuff i am holding? Is my hair gonna get messed up?”… well you get the point by now i hope. Figuratively speaking those are all the questions we really askIt just sounds more ridiculous when we put it like that. We often as humans weather we like it or not, we like to plan ahead. We like knowing the future, and having back up plans just in case. That’s why when God says its time, we have a hard time of letting everything else go and get ready to “deploy”.
Matthew 16:24 then Jesus said to them,”whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves, and take up thier cross and follow me.” Are we ready to deny ourselves, pride, selfish deeds, comfort, to pick up our cross and follow him? if not why not? Commitment is the attitude of someone who works hard to do or support something. How committed are we to what we have been called. passion is a strong feeling of enthusiasm or and excitement for something. What are you most passionate about.
To go back to the show, my tittle, While the army’s are at home with their family and friends, they don’t sit there eating garbage, sleeping until noon, and getting out of shape. They practice, train, always working towards their next mission. That is how our walk with Christ should be. We should practice what we preach, we should train everyday to become more like Christ, We should strive to be the best us we could be. We shouldn’t wait to be Christ like until we get off the plane in some country we have never been too, and secretly curious about what kind of animal we would be served for dinner. We should live like an army, always training, always reading Gods word, practicing what it says, Always ready for whats next.”To succeed is to leave this world better than we found it”
