Wow, where do I start? Last month in Romania flew by, and now where almost half way done our ministry here in India! What a blessing this opportunity is! Sometimes it dawns on me: here I am in India of all places, and my soul purpose is to glorify God by painting and making kids laugh! Awesome!Â
This month we’re stationed out of ongole India, and we’re partnering with covenant children’s homes, (CCH) via India Christian Ministries, (ICM) and it’s been a great first couple weeks! This last week we’ve been sanding and painting the home and church that we’re staying in. This building also houses 10 boys from the surrounding communities. The bottom floor is the living quarters, Â with a kitchen and common area with bedrooms, and the upper floor is the church sanctuary. The kids host most of the services on Sunday, playing drums and singing. It’s such a lively place around here. Constant energy it seems, and hustle and bustle. Some of the boys go to school in the morning, and others in the afternoon, after lunch.
Every meal we are served increasable Indian food by the kids, we sit on mats on the floor and eat with our right hands. This can be quite difficult when you’re eating rice with sauce and curry chicken sauté… but we’re slowly getting the hang of it, laughing all the way through our practice.Â
We start painting after breakfast, and stop for lunch, picking up again in the afternoon until dinner around 7pm. We might even get to paint a mural in the boys bedroom so I’m excited about that.Â
