From the moment we arrived in Ecuador, we knew our time was going to be incredible!
Our hosts Percy and Gema were so full of the Lord and His joy, they made everyday fun.
Their bundle of cuteness, Mila also made the atmosphere precious and exciting.
It was fun to have roommates just a whisper away.
Everyday was a new adventure.
From hitching rides in the back of work trucks…
…to playing in the street with local kids…
…to breaking my toes (see Broken Toes, Broken Spirit?)…
…there was hardly ever a dull moment!
We got sleep wherever we could.
Or went crazy otherwise.
Although that wasn’t necessarily from lack of sleep…it was just the norm.
We visited the old folks home two or three times a week.
They ended up bringing more joy to us than I thought possible!
Two of my favorite ladies…Rosa and Soyla.
Melody and I would pass the time together under a tree outside.
A few times, Danielle and I were able to help our friend Colón, with aquatic therapy.
Sometimes there were emergency English lessons to help with homework!
One of our favorite things was going to stay at the Foundation for Love two days a week.
The Foundation is an orphanage located on the coast about and hour and a half from Portoviejo (our main ministry town).
The kids are absolutely precious…
…and without even trying, stole our hearts!!
Working with Aliance church, we became part of the cheerleading squad for our guy’s soccer team every week!
We made lifelong friends…
…who became like family.
We worked and played with them.
Making memories that will last forever.

Work days
Rest days
Adventure days
🙂
God’s glory was revealed in every part of our time in Ecuador!!
