What words are there to say when you find out such news…news that feels like you have been punched till you can’t breathe?

This morning that feeling came…my stomach dropped as I found out one of my squad mates was killed in a car accident last night.

We hadn’t met face to face. I would finally get to meet Anastasia and hug her in person at Training Camp in 11 days.

I feel like I am already deeply connected to my F squad – my (F)amily. This unexpected shock sent ripples through my teammates. We have lost a family member.

As we have been rallying in prayer, remembering the words of a fellow sister, grieving together, and celebrating the life of a beautiful daughter of the King, I am reminded,

“For in Him we live and move and have our being.” Acts 17:28

He has called Anastasia to His side.

He has given her the crown of life and through Him she has life abundantly!

As I sit here with no words to describe all the emotions…the pain of losing a sister, the joy hearing the impact she had for Christ, the peace surrounding my (F)amily, the celebration knowing the Father’s arms are open wide for His precious child…I am overcome by His gentle presence.

God is sovereign.

He is good.

In HIM we live and move and breathe. Whether it’s for the days He has given us here in His Kingdom, or the day He calls us home to live in His glorious presence forever.

“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21

Anastasia has gained.

This verse was taken from one of Anastasia’s blogs:

“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” Acts 20:24.

We will miss you sister.

We didn’t get to see you at the beginning of this World Race, but we will see you at the end of the ultimate race!
