Let me introduce you to my family.

This is our most recent family photo, taken one week ago in beautiful downtown Chicago. It’s difficult to think about being away from them for a whole year! They have shaped me into the person I am today, and have supported me unswervingly throughout my decision to do the World Race. I love them so, so much.

These people (and many others, not pictured) have been my adopted family over the past four years. They embraced awkward, lonely freshman Elizabeth and offered her a community unlike any other. These people have made the past college years of my life the very best I’ve experienced. They give me grace when I need it, and speak truth always. They will always be my brothers and sisters, and I am so grateful for each one of them.
Finally, here is my new family.
I’ve spent a total of 10 days with them. In a few weeks, I’ll embark on an 11-month-long adventure with these crazy folks. I couldn’t be more excited. God knew what he was doing when he placed us together.
This family is multitalented; artists, teachers, musicians, photographers, preachers, writers, encouragers. Some quit their full-time jobs to serve the Lord this year. Some are traveling out of the country for the first time. Gosh, they are so wonderful and they live for Jesus boldly. We are so looking forward to navigating the Race together.
UPDATE: I am now FULLY FUNDED!!!!!! WOOHOOOOOOOO!!!! Not all of the money has been processed yet, but hopefully the total will be reflected on this blog soon. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to everyone who prayed, encouraged, and donated. I am completely in awe.
