Howard, aka Howie, (22 yrs old) is a super talented musician who uses his gifts for the Lord. He plays drums and guitar to name a couple. He is from Southern California and is adventurous and so cool. He surfs and works at a zipline place-I mean can you get cooler? I think not! He is an introvert (all 3 of the guys are) and a thinker. He has a quiet confidence about him. Howard shared some of his testimony with us and he amazed all of us with his faith and love for God. I can’t wait to see how God uses him!
Jody (23) is a joyful woman of God from Alaska. From what she’s shared about Alaska, sounds similar to the south where she eats all wild game and fishes often, just about a million degrees colder, ha! She is a really neat person. She’s an elementary school teacher (hurray we have one that knows what to do with kids in vbs). She has an obvious freedom in worship, is an encourager, and also has the gift of discernment. She is a bright and shining light and I’m so stoked to get to serve with her.
Avery (22) is our team leader! She and I have a lot of similarities. She is a southern girl from Texas, who loves her iced tea and sweets! She is the most outgoing and extravert on our team. She is bubbly with joy and fun to be around. She likes sports and is a mama’s girl (told you we are nearly the same person, lol). She has many gifts such as faith, leadership, wisdom and discernment just to name a few. She is going to be such an asset and humble leader. We are so thankful for her!
Drew-(26) Most sexy, handsome, hunk of a man-missionary ever, married to me(23)-most inappropriate missionary ever! lol
Casey (21) is an amazing dude from Georgia! He always has a smile on his face (a lot of times a mysterious smile making me wonder what he is thinking haha). He has a heart for worship and has a beautiful voice. He is so joyful, encouraging, and is the more artsy/creative one in our group. He has a degree in marketing. He came up with name Sweet Somethings. All week the Lord has been speaking truth over people and telling them who they really are in Him. So the name is a play on words, instead of speaking sweet nothings..the Lord whispers sweet somethings. Also-we all love sweets! So, there’s that too. Haha!
Lindsay (25) is right the middle of being and introvert/extrovert. She is from Alabama, is a medical assistant and just got her degree in Human Services. She has a gift of mercy and has a love for the Word and gospel! I love it! She if filled with the Holy Spirit and you know it the minute you meet her! She is kind, humble, and inviting. She will strengthen this team and the world with her love and compassion.
We are dedicating this year to the Lord. Praying to be aware of how He is moving and to join Him in His work. We are honored to be His hands and feet and I’m honored to do it with such amazing men and women that are a part of the same body. Each person is so gifted, unique, and is a huge asset. We are ready to go deeper, fight for each other in prayer, to be broken, to grow, to love, to have conflicts (hello feedback, lol), to change the world, and to be changed into more of who God made us to be!
