The guy gets up and starts jumping. I prayed to Jesus “Help me with my unbelief.” Did I just see a miracle?

A couple hours before, we were traveling through the community, sharing the love of Christ with others. At first it was very awkward trying to talk, to the people in the community, right off the bat about Jesus. Then I remembered what I was going to talk later that night. Creating a relationship before we share the gospel with them is way more useful and effective. We stopped by many houses.

Then God grabs me and shows me who he really is.

After going door to door sharing The Gospel, the pastor gets a phone call. He seemed a little concerned. He got off the phone and told us we were done evangelizing for the day and that we need to go to the church to pray for a guy that is sick. I thought sweet this is very uncomfortable anyways. (Yes I know that I’m suppose to be uncomfortable)

It was a short walk back to the church. I could still hear the builders banging on the nails as they put up the last few metal sheets on the building. We walked into the church and there was a guy trembling in fear. I don’t think he spoke any English, but as he talked to the pastor about what was wrong, the pastor takes some deep breaths and looks at us with a deep look like he was about to tell us something sobering.  We found out that the guy’s heart was filled with water and he didn’t know how much time he had.

The guy was in his mid 20’s, tall, and skinny. He was also a Muslim man.

We heard this guys story about a few days before he came to the church.  he told us he had heard from someone if you go to a born again church (that’s what they call most churches in Uganda) they will pray for you and you will be healed. So He trusted in something that was not of his beliefs because he had nothing.

God wants us to come to him during all parts of our lives, but most people come to him when they have nothing. It’s such a great thing that he takes us as we are. This guys unbelief was made whole by Jesus. He had already put his hope in Jesus without really knowing who this guy was.

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 ESV

The bible talks about people hearing about this Jesus that heal and because of their hope and faith in that they were made whole

This man had nothing. He belief system does not believe in Jesus like I do. Jesus is just a prophet to  Muslim nothing more. But this guy was hoping that what he had heard about this Jesus guy was true. So he set fourth on a trip to find him, and ended up at the church where we are.

As we prayed for the man, he trembled in fear. We were all sobered by the moment and then he started shaking uncontrollably. Like nothing I had ever seen. It’s hard to explain what I seen. Going from sitting to shaking, legs went straight out and his arms went out like he was hanging on a cross. We caught him as he went to the ground.

The sounds that I heard were something you only hear about in movies or from others. I felt like he was going to die. I don’t want to see someone die. I’m to young to see that.

My unbelief started to come out. I put God in a box. He isn’t going to be able to heal this man. My knowledge of what I have learned about God from the short time I have been a follower of Christ. We pray for people and the pass away. I have never seen God physically heal someone. I have only heard about it.

The guy started coughing again and we continued praying for him. I asked God to help me with my unbelief. I also ask God why would you let this happen to him. I was shortly reminded that God loves him to.

He has been working on this guys heart already. I mean he was there and he wanted to accept Jesus before he died. So he did right before he started shaking uncontrollably.

I’m not sure how much time went by but it felt like and hour. He rolled over and started to cough up spit and it looked like he was getting life back into him. We sat him up, he asked for water, and started telling us that the pains that he had were gone. This guys face was super surprised about what just happened. My face was probably looked like “what in the world just happened.”

The guy got up and started jumping. He jumped like a little kid jumps in a big puddle. I mean he was jumping in a puddle of Jesus love and healing power. Jesus let me see a physical miracle. Our God is way to big to comprehend sometimes and to see God work like that, it’s hard for me to understand why so many people don’t believe, but because someone told this guys about Jesus and who he is, this guy was saved and healed. Someone was just doing their job of sharing the gospel just like everyone else should.
