Greetings from Chiang Mai!
Despite chilly nights, long flights, a swaying double-decker bus and bouts of home-sickness, things are pretty nice. I expected to sleep in the bush and shower over a bucket, but the Lord gave us a break for the first month. We are staying in a Hostel in town and very surprisingly, there are a ton of other young Americans staying here, too.
Training camp has been very uplifting. The leadership is great and we even had the priviledge of working with Seth Barnes. During camp, we were placed into teams. Our team name is Overcome. Healing was prophesied over us and we are not only overcoming our obstacles, but we are overcome with the Lord’s favor. Our group is full of strong women and I sense the Lord will use us in a powerful way. We have already delved into being healed emotionally and spiritually. Physical healing soon to follow.
Training is finally over with. Whew! We are now into the second phase of our stay in Thailand: Ministry!! Yay!
Our friiends in Thailand say they are surrounded by religion, but spiritually starving. It is well and good for missionaries to come, but the key is to “wear Jesus as skin.” Their heart longs to encounter Jesus without compromising Thai culture to Westernized Christianity. We have heard many stories and heartfelt testimonies of how God is transforming desperate situations for His Kingdom.
Our job as World Racers is to live out a Kingdom culture. Our days are anchored with prayer and worship. We are learning to hear God’s voice in the quiet times, yet also admist distractions. We are undertaking spiritual warfare head on. Our squad has become its own family, complete with Spiritual parents. I am so thankful for their imparted wisdom. It is wonderful and at times whimsical being with such a great bunch for such a time as this. I feel like I am home: God has given me a calling and I am living it now. This is only the beginning.
Thank you for everything that was done to get me here. Please consider following along on my journey.
