Falling in love requires COMMITMENT.
Commitment means FOREVER.
This commitment with my Creator, the author and perfecter of my life is one that I am willing to make. I am choosing to stay in love. I am choosing to be faithful. I am choosing to seek after my Heavenly Father so that I may find Him in deeper ways and keep falling more in love with Him day by day.
Along with this commitment comes a variety of emotions. Being emotionally in love with God has brought both tears and joy. However, no matter what the emotion, most of the time I just experience a deep contentment in knowing that He is with me. I feel secure in His love.
This doesn’t mean that I will never experience distraction again or never have any doubts ever again. But what it does mean is that in those times I must decide to stay committed and be faithful no matter the emotion.
This month in India has been one that I will never forget. Though stretching at times, it has been a month filled with CONTENTMENT. It has been filled with truly walking in the FREEDOM that I’ve found in Christ throughout the past seven months.
Last week, as our team was enjoying a time of worship with our many “brothers” from the Covenant School of Worship, God gave me a picture of a bald eagle that was soaring high in the sky so peacefully, and with so much freedom. As I reflected on this, I believe it accurately displays a clear picture of where I am at in my spiritual journey with God. God has allowed me to find freedom from the chains of my past that have held me back for years and this month I’ve been able to walk (fly) boldly with confidence in the freedom that He has blessed me with!
My commitment to Christ is one that I cherish deeply. I am falling more in love with my Savior each and every day. The more I seek after Him, the more I experience Him and fall more in love with Him. God has renewed my heart for him, providing me with a new level of CONTENTMENT AND PEACE and I am forever grateful.
“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” –Isaiah 40:31
