I. AM. A. DAUGHTER. OF. THE. KING

Nothing can change the fact that I am a daughter of the King. It says in Romans 8:14 that, “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.”  Regardless of my relationship with my Heavenly Father, I am His. Whether I serve Him in a manner that brings Him glory or whether I serve out of my own selfishness. Whether He is proud of me or disappointed in me, nothing will change the reality that I belong to Christ and am His daughter.

Sometimes, I tend to believe that I need to perform well in my daily tasks in order to earn God’s acceptance and approval to be His daughter. However, no matter how hard I try to perform, I will still not always succeed. Thankfully, it’s not about my successes and failures that determines whether or not I get to be a daughter of the King each day. Ever since the day I received Christ and believed in Him, “he gave the right to become children of God—children born neither of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God” (John 1:12-13).

Scripture tells us that we have been, “predestined from adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.” I have been adopted by my Heavenly Father and have received His Spirit on the inside.

I want to experience the grace that Christ wants to give me in order to walk in the Spirit. I believe a big part of this process is letting go of my performance as being a big determining factor in my status as a daughter of the King.

There is nothing that I can ever do that that will make me any more or less a daughter of the King. I am and will always be one of His.
