Sleeping in the Bangkok Airport after missing our first flight                  Mixed emotions at Tan Son Nhat Airport, Vietnam

The following passage was written by the visa lady responsible for our misadventure in Vietnam. We are still waiting to see what He has planned for team Luminous next…stay tuned and keep on praying!            
                                            
“I checked with the staff of airlines from Bangkok in Hanoi. They said that you can fly without approval letter. And we contacted with Tan Son Nhat Airport to guarantee for you (complimentary the original approval letter). So I said Ms W send you my telephone number to call when you land off the flight to Tan Son Nhat Airport.

 
On the afternoon of 2nd May 2009, when you called me that the Air Asia did not allow you go to the airplane without the approval letter. I was very surprised because it difference with the information I checked. In this urgent case, I don’t have any your copy scan your approval letter send to you, I have to designed another approval letter from my emails I sent to Ms W before. This approval I sent only for Air Asia not for you to confirm with them that you have the approval letter already and you can go to the plane. But they said that it was too late and you can not go to the fly. I was sorry to grudge. You called back to me with request send the approval letter to this email. I was hurry forward to you the email I had sent to Air Asia and forgot tell you don’t give it to the custom at Tan Son Nhat Airport and only call to me because my company is the organization guarantee for you. Because if you give this approval letter, it was not real.
 
And when the custom of Tan Son Nhat airport called me on that morning of 3rd May 2009 to tell about this wrong letter and establish the report with you. They call to me that I have give them the original letter at that time. It was impossible for me because my homeland is very far from my office. I called to the airport to check the information on the system. But unfortunately, there is no information on the system. I don’t know why, as you.
 
After that, I call to everywhere and everybody can have you. But they said that they could not because you gave the not real letter for the custom. So they don’t want to have any connection with this work. We have to solve with the immigration at the airport up to afternoon of that day. And the final result, you have to exit Vietnam.“

 
To top off the whole ordeal, because I was in a sleepy stupor from sleeping in an airport and dealing with the Air Asia staff, I left our team cell phone charging at the Ho Chi Minh City airport.  I woke up on Tuesday morning wondering if all this actually happened or was it all just a bad dream.  It’s real and it happened and there’s a bigger purpose in it all, which we hope to let you know about sometime.
