This first video is from the day before getting into Guachupita. It shows where we´re living. it´s significantly nicer than the slum we´re working in. there are about 35 of us from the squad of 52 in this neighborhood right now, and it´s been wonderful to have a community to worship with, pray with, laugh with, cook with, etc.

This video comes after a day of ministry where spiritual warfare was at it´s height. I´ve never seen spiritual warfare as true as i do here. we´ve had men yell out cryptic things in odd voices at night, things like “They´re here!” followed by all the street lights between us and them going off. it´s darkness manifested. but even in those…God is showing himself victorious, stronger than anything or anyone else, and just good. He´s a Father who wants to give good gifts to his children. He´s a King who takes joy in giving kingly gifts. He´s the champion of my heart. He´s my rest and my comfort.

today i ask you to pray for my team´s rest. we´re tired. the work we´re doing isn´t physically draining, but it´s exhausting emotionally and spiritually. today is our day off, and pray that we´re blessed with rest.

i ask you to pray continuously for meekness on my behalf.

i have a friend here who is hurting today, too. pray for that friend.

Orioles hand is getting a little better…slowly but surely, as he rehabs it. it looks nasty, but he´s working today and tomorrow which is a start. I´ll bring a camera into Guachupita the last week of the trip so yáll can see Erica and Orioles and the other´s i love and am burdened to pray for. but until then…here are a few pictures for you.

1. playing guitar in the street with the kids in the neigborhood. they love to knock on our doors early in the morning to play with us. we´ve played running bases, had bonfires, played elbow tag, and tons else. it´s great!
2. DR food. lots of beans and rice. but hey, i´m not starving. but i´ll appreciate more than ever the next potbelly sandwich i have. but i can´t talk about food or i get really hungry
3. riding a motorcycle in the DR. it didn´t have brakes. had one gear. basically, it was in worse shape than my motorcycle, even on the night the brakes fell off of my bike!
4. romans says, ¨how lovely are the feel of them who bring the good news.¨ poop covered, stinky, but we love doing it! we love bringing light and love to a barrio that God loves and has gone before us to capture with his grace!
