It’s hard to believe how fast this race is going. Today is already the 15th of July, 2014! I’ll start from the top and break up the past few weeks into a few different blogs.

On 3 July 2014 I woke up around 3:15am showered, dressed, and walking into the hotel lobby at 3:30am. By 4:00 am I am on a bus with my one large backpack and my daypack headed for Atlanta International Airport. Over the next 6 hours my logistics partner and I were tasked with leading our squad of 48 individuals to the airport, through the airport, and on the plane for the Dominican Republic. Praise God for His grace! The movement went incredibly smooth all the way to the Dominican Republic and to our host for the month. We only had a minor hiccup getting our SIM cards for all our team phones. This resulted in a late night waking people to collet their phones, leaving at 5:15am the next morning after four hours of off and on naps, and a 45 minute drive off the mountain to spend a day in a nearby city getting local SIM cards. God revealed Himself even through this in multiple ways. One for example sending three people with me, that between the three of them, were able to translate for me. We were only able to get eight of the ten local SIM cards that day and had to go back the next day for the other two. God provided transportation and all our needs to accomplish this task. I am thankful God eased us into our first challenges. These are common to experience on the race. It is such an honor to be able to see God tangibly move and meet needs in such moments.

I am grateful for all the prayers and support that has helped make all this possible. I do have a need however that came up. My laptop battery kicked the bucket and died. This happened just before leaving Atlanta the night before. A functioning laptop is slightly helpful on the race as a Logistics Leader. At the moment I have had to wait for the opportunity to get electricity and WI-FI to match up to give the proper updates and get our budget spreadsheets filled. If you would like to give towards this need and help me to try and acquire a new laptop here in the Dominican Republic mountains please email me at [email protected]

I love you all and thank God for your prayers and support. The Kingdom of God is coming to Earth.

“The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles— the people dwelling in darkness have seen a great light, and for those dwelling in the region and shadow of death, on them a light has dawned.” From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 4:15-17 ESV)

In Christ Alone,
