First let me give you a quick backstory. So what you are about to read is how God revealed Himself to my squad and myself the day we crossed the border of the Dominican Republic into Haiti. I spent the first four days here in Haiti flat on my back sick, and the following week recovering from the infection . In that time God comforted me, as the majority of the time I was physically alone. However, there were always two in the room with the Holy Spirit present. These are the words God placed on my heart to write as fast as I could receive them our first full day here. This first blog is a poem / spoken-word. Look for following post of journal entries I have since recorded as God has been moving here and growing me. May God receive all the glory, honor, and praise.
My Eyes have seen the Sword of The Lord. His shield covered me like a blanket, A blanket that the enemy could not unveil.
The enemy met me at the gate and began to yell
“You can’t get in unless you pay,” as if I owed him bail
With anger and frustration in his eyes
His threats came, but they were merely lies
See the enemy knows he is loosing his grip on this country
For the Kingdom of God has been infiltrating his walls
With a massive Earthquake…, God shook the very foundation of it all
The walls literally…began to fall
And still remain broken, as a testimony to us all
Enough… God’s voice Commanded as the Earth began to shake!
ENOUGH Lucifer, Father of all lies!
For I have heard their people’s cry!
Their desperations and pleas,
Have reached heaven, all the way to Me.
God said:
I gave up my son for all who would call on HIM
And you filled there mind with lies that have completely blinded them
But that’s not the end, Don’t live in that disguise
But let God’s word, open up your Spiritual eyes
You see, “It is finished” Satan, my Savior cried
As He hung upon the cross where He bled and died
So for this Nation we have but one decree
That “Hope has come,” in the form of you and me
If you are still asking what nation could this be
Well I am here to tell you it’s the nation of Haiti
——
It was at the border where we were met by opposition
But we began to pray and watch God and His Angels take their position
The enemy came in the face of an angry man, who knew he was loosing ground
When he boarded the bus and 49 believers he found
It was then His threats… began to sound
That is when I heard my Savior say: “Behold, this is My Sword”
God began to lay waist the enemy that was around
And our God claimed that very ground
This fight that was fought was not about physical ground
But about souls that are lost and ready to be found
It was in that moment that Satan knew
The chain had to fall for the Holy Spirit was coming through
At the next check point standing eye to eye
I was faced with a question, Tell the truth? Or lie?
Are you all missionaries………..?
I heard his question loud and clear
But I gave a blank stare and hesitated. Maybe it was fear?
It was in that split second I heard My Savior say:
“Yes…it is ok!”
We had yet another stop to make
Guards and security our belongings to search, and perhaps take
But that is when God began to say: “Behold, this is My Shield”
One officer came aboard with curiosity in his eyes
But he did not poses the power to see behind
God granted immeasurable favor to you and me
and even when he checked our bus drivers I.D.
So I hope this helps make it very clear
That God has purposed, and called you here
This is not a call to live in fear
But one to remember your Saviors Sword and Shield…are always near.
In Christ Alone,
Darron Chamlee
