So it has officially been 5 weeks on the World Race, and what an adventure it has been!  I have found my home in Guatemala in a small village about 40 minutes outside Antigua, called Xenacoj.  This village has become my home and will continue to be for the next 2 months as we grow closer to the family we live with and the other locals that we come in contact with on a daily basis.  The village is actually one of the nicer ones in the area, but it is still one of much poverty and in need of a lot of help and hope.  But that’s why we are here, to bring the hope of Jesus Christ to the lost and the poor, the outcast and the forgotten.  This journey hasn’t been easy, and it has stretched me farther than I thought possible.

But Jesus said, “follow me.”  And when he did he didn’t mean to just follow Him when it’s easy, no He meant follow Him through the trials and tribulations that He promised would come when you live a life following Him.  Time and time again in the Bible Jesus promises a life with many trials and tribulations following Him, but at the same time He also promises victory.  He promises to fill us with joy that is unexplainable, peace that is unbreakable, and love that is unsinkable.  He fills us with Himself who is the Creator of these very things!  When you have the Creator of joy living inside of you, what hard time can bring you down?  When the Creator of peace lives inside you, what frustration can stop you?  When the Creator of love lives inside you, what on this earth can stand in your way?!

God calls for full surrenderance to Him, and for me to sit here and play around and give Him anything less than my entire self would be foolish.  Jesus came down to this earth from His throne in heaven, lived a perfect life, went through many trials and tribulations, was so hated and misunderstood that they wanted to crucify him, and our Lord and Savior allowed it so you and me could be saved and live forever with Him!  So that we could have salvation and have a personal relationship with God our Father that will last for eternity!  If He will do all that for us, the least we could do is give God our entire life on this earth, which is a blink of an eye compared to the eternity that we will spend with Him in heaven.  Like why not, why not allow a God that great and powerful and loving come in and make His home inside of me so that I could be in the presence and feel the love of a God that great every single day of my life!!  Because guys when we are children of God, He wants to show us His glory and how much He loves us every single day.  And even when He allows trials and tribulations to come upon us, He does it to show His mighty strength to us even in our weakest of times.  Meaning that when we go through tough times and we rely on God and His strength rather than our own to get through it then He will do way more than just show up, the Creator of the universe will bring you through victorious!

I won’t go another day not fully surrendered to our Lord and Savior, why would I?  This doesn’t mean I’m perfect, but it does mean that I do have a perfect King living inside of me.  It doesn’t mean I won’t mess up anymore, but it does mean I refuse to use the excuse that I am just human because the one living inside of me is not human, He is the living God Almighty.  He has set a fire in my heart that I can’t put out, thanks to many answered prayers and cries out to Him for it, and it will continue to burn for the rest of eternity and I want the rest of the world to see it, so that they can see how great and loving my God is.  So they can experience the unexplainable grace of God that covers us even in our worst days.

God bless you all, I love and miss everyone so much. Just know that God is at work and is doing amazing things here in Xenacoj.
