Two weeks have passed since my arrival to El Salvador and it already feels like home. I do not believe my spirit would carry the peace that it now does if I were anywhere else. This new chapter has already begun..
I remember the afternoon that I leisurely strolled into the kitchen, plopped myself down at the table, and casually said,
“Oh, hey Marsh. Yeah, so, I just applied for The World Race.”
He just looked at me for a second – I still remember his response like it was yesterday.
Okay no I don’t. But I’m sure it was something like,
“Really?”
Or perhaps he cracked one of his famous dad jokes, who knows. Regardless, I do vividly remember filling out an application for a trip for which I didn’t have much ambition.
But what do you know, God knew. God knew I would halfheartedly fill out that application and God knew that He had something greater for me.
SO, here I sit, in San Salvador, El Salvador, writing this in awe of the God I serve. In awe that just four months ago I had absolutely no clue what was coming. In awe that He chose me to be His servant and His servant I will be.
Welcome to El Salvador, Clayton
