I've never watched that garbage of a show, but I've heard plenty about it. This is the Real World: World Race Edition!

Life in community is a living nightmare and a blessing all at the same time.

It challenges us to grow in areas that we have never recognized because we have been so used to living with family our whole lives. And this is different than having roommates. This is force-fed family. I've always heard the phrase, "you can't pick your family." Very true. You also can't pick who you are with on the World Race. That can be quite tricky.

I promise you are going to get stuck with some people throughout your time on TWR that you just can't stand! And you will be stuck with people who you absolutely LOVE TO DEATH!!! That's REAL WORLD problems!

There will be days when you get on everyone's last nerve and you get feedbacked out the woozah! You will want to defend yourself and fight for your respect and dignity, but don't do it. Sometimes feedback or confrontation will destroy you! But being broken is a good thing, because it encourages us to grow!

But there will also be days when you are such a huge blessing to your team and they bless you in return with encouragement and affirmation out the woozah! LOVE those days!! You are going to leave TWR with friends for life! No doubt.

As I was talking to my someone about the upcoming team changes they said they can only imagine how difficult it must be sometimes…AMEN to that!!

But I challenged them with this question…"What if you had to live in community with your co-workers?" Of course they answered, "Only if I get to pick who I have to live with." HAHAHA!!!! IF ONLY!!!!!!

I would love that, but would that challenge us to grow…

Or would we just choose to sit stagnant in who we currently are?

I've learned during this first 3 months that I have to choose to love some people. I could easily dismiss them and pretend that they don't matter, but that isn't very Christlike. I want to be like Jesus, so that means I have to love these people desipite the pain that they cause me some days from the things they say and do to inflict harm.

That's basically like God and how He loves us. We do so much to inflict harm towards the Lord. We lie. We steal. We hate. We kill. We lust. We covet. We do all sorts of things that we know hurt God's heart, but we CHOOSE to do these things a good bit of the time.

So Real World: World Race Edition…

11 months of blessing.

11 months of torture!

11 months that are well worth it.

So don't let people bring you down when living in community and do your best not to bring people down. Words are super duper powerful and cut deeper than we realize sometimes.

We must live HOLY!! Live with Christ on your mind and hold fast to the presence of God! The Holy Spirit dwells in us as Christians and we can no longer continue to allow the Spirit to just REST in us. We aren't a 5-star resort with spa services and down comfortors and select-your-own-comfort pillows. We are a living, breathing BODY! He needs to LIVE in us!

So future world racers…

1) In what ways do you look forward to being challenged by living in community?

2) What terrifies you about the thought of living in community?

3) In what ways do you plan to build up your squadmates while on this 11-month journey?

And former World Racers…

1) What advice do you have to future or present World Racers like myself about having Grace in community living?

2) How did you escape from anxiety within the group without seperating yourself from the group?

3) What was one of your biggest victories within your team as you lived in TWR community?

I hope this gives some insight to what community life is like on TWR. I hope you are ready to have your world ROCKED!!! God loves you and desires for you to grow closer to Him and grow closer to His children!

Do it.

Much love! – Chuck Morris
