Get it? The hills are alive, like the sound of music! And even though I kind of hate that movie, I figured it was a fairly creative blog title.
The beauty of Nepal is so absolutely breathtaking! God has so richly blessed this land with just absolute magnificence! It is mindblowing to me that a place so beautiful can be so absent of the presence of God. Our ministry this month in Kathmandu, Nepal is kind of random. We do a lot of different things during the week. We are working and staying with a family from the church. On Saturdays we go to church, preach, and then do a youth meeting afterward. During the mornings we generally do prayer meetings with members from the church. And the afternoons we spend doing street evangelizing. Last week, we hiked for an unexpected long time and just passed out brochures to people and spreading the word of God. We got to pray for many Hindu people and talk to them about Jesus. We also hiked up to one of the temples here last week and were able to pray over it. We really just go and do whatever our contact asks us. This week we are spending our days teaching at one of the local schools. But don’t you worry, I am posting a blog later today with stories from our experience so far. I just kind of wanted you all to get a feel for what we are doing here.
This past week, our team has been suffering from what I like to call…….the booty shooties. (aka diarrhea) We blame it on the Nepalese water but it might just be from an overconsumption of peanutbutter. Who knows! The guys on our team actually never got sick. But dude, the girls sure did get the brunt of that sickness. A couple of the girls spent a couple days throwing up, and the rest of us just kind of had really bad booty shooties. It tore us up! But thank the Lord we are all feeling better and finally back into our ministry!
I also just wanted to tell everyone thank you SO much for your support. I am now FULLY funded!! Praise the Lord! I thought I would never see the day where I would raise 14,300 dollars. God is awesome. And so faithful. And I feel so abundantly blessed every morning. Please remember my team as they are all also trying to raise their money before the end of the month.
